How does telehealth work?Phone sessions: It's simply a matter of scheduling the call. I will call you at your appointment time.
Video sessions: Also pretty easy ~ after we have agreed that this is a good fit for your situation, simply go to https://doxy.me/melaniesmith =OR= click on the link above at your appointment time. You will be taken to my session check-in page at the video service. Please provide both your first and last name at check-in so I can be sure it's you! In my experience, doxy.me works most reliably with Chrome, although other browsers may work. While mobile devices do work with this format, I strongly recommend you use a laptop. If for some reason we need to exchange documents, or if I have a handout to give you, it works best to be on a laptop/desktop computer. I'm finding that people cannot locate shared documents on mobile devices. Payment info I require a credit card on file for video and phone sessions. It will be charged first thing in the morning the day of your appointment. If the card doesn't work, we will take care of it at the beginning of your session. Test drive! Please give this a try prior to your session time. I won't open the video session room unless it is your scheduled time, so feel free to go through the brief check-in. Be somewhere with a strong wifi signal ~ the better the wifi, the less glitchy the video. Also, you may need to adjust your browser settings to allow access to your camera and microphone. There's a button at the video check-in screen to test your video and audio. If for some reason the video doesn't work, we will simply switch to a phone session. Note for couples: This video service allows for more than one client to attend a session at the same time. So for couples using video, you can either share one screen or you can each check in from your own device. I will open the session to you both from my side. |
